I go for the overall look of the watch. For example, I think that the 5004 and 5135 are nicest in yellow gold and if i were to get either of them, it would be in yellow. I wanted the 5040 in rose gold but the silver dial on the platinum one really looked lovely so i stuck to that one. But in general
