Do you have any specific examples of Lange using less gold in cases? I love the heft of precious metals. I agree with you with regards to the appearance of the Lange 1 and ZW movements looking better in earlier generations.

The ceramic coating is obvious at first with how water beads and slides off. Things in general will wash off more easily. That effect, unfortunately, only lasted a year or two. A had a clear film bra applied to the entire front of my car at the same time. The benefits from that are more long lasting
