Sad to say goodbye...

apart from the Mamma Mia appeal, which makes the 202A THE Pre-V model to die for, also the dial conditions are superlative, The prestine, FAT matching indices are simply..spectacular. On the flip side of the coin, the dial of the 201A NM is a bit "worse f

Some pictures of my Ex Panerai Pre Vendome 5218-202/A Marina Militare and a killing detail.

I love the 202a and with such special provenance, even more delicious, but I must say you made the right choice with your MMR, till now out of all the MRs I have seen, it is the most unique and appealing, the combination of design and materials is sublime

A 12 years old picture of my ex Panerai Pre Vendome collection.

NM phenomenon are the indices. The indices were hand painted with mixes that were not always the same. The hands are all the same (probably manufactured industrially) There are no NM hands. In fact there are also 202A with a matching dial

A blast from the Past: Panerai Pre Vendome 5218-203/A.

slightly. 10 years ago EVERY 202A was going for that amount. Today, the average ones go for 45/55K and the NM have gone up again. Same for the 201A, 10 years ago 30-35 for a matching, 45/50 for a NM. Today 15/20 for a matching, upward of 50 for a NM. The

in a way. Both the 201A and 202A have TWO different price tags: one for the matching and one for the non matching models. A 201A NM, if pristine and with the "right" patina, has a market price of upward of 50K. The same goes for a 202A NM which goes for 8

Ace or base or Base of Ace? Panerai 5218-202/A Marina Militare Pre Vendôme.

would dare "touch" the 5218-202A...BUT I have a confession to make: I prefer the 9Pre-A. I know that the 202A is a Mamma Mia..BUT given the same dial (Pre-A have Pre-V dials) the simplicity of a 9 is matched only by the 2 IMO of course

Panerai 5218-203/ A: A beast.

A nice cannon powder grey black PVD case, a superb tritium dial, this pre vendome Panerai was really something. Less prestigious than the Marina Militare 202/ A, nor less " new " than the Logo 201/ A, but it had a lot of charm and appeal. No fuss, either,
