14 years with my Rolex Seadweller 16660.

There are watches you know they will be yours, at first sight. I tried many 16660 before finding mine, exactly like I did with the Rolex Explorer II 1655, and there was no " wow factor ". Till I fell on the right one. Here is the first photo I took of it:

Rolex DeepSea..

Anyone notice Rolex had updated and change the back of the case.. the titanium block is now much more “exposed” compared to first generation DeepSea 116660 compared to the latest 136660. Anyone here own a 126660? Care to share a photo of the case back? ..

Fifty Fathoms bezel hard to turn

I think you shouldn't use too much force anyway and have the watch checked again. On my FF (also with the brushed red gold case) turning the bezel gives the impression of a robust, reliable mechanism. It feels like a well adjusted grid. You feel every cli

Two impressive companions made my day.

and wears much better than the 116660 (the 126660 has a wider bracelet). It’s a great companion for the sea because you don’t have to care what to do with this watch. It is robust and reliable. You should try it. Cheers Thomas

WristScan Live - Weekend Watches

I have been very busy during the the last months. So I am very happy to be able to join our “friendly competition” ((c) Cpt Scarlet?) again. ☺️ Well, three watches have been with me for the last two weeks of my vacation, and of course also at the weekend.

A fair trade?

I met a friend for lunch at a nearby flying club. He collects vintage watches and today he was wearing his Rolex 1665 Sea Dweller from 1970. I wore my Cartier Santos and we traded watches briefly. I tried distracting him with conversation in the hope he w

Info regarding AMVOX crystal-activated chronographs from JLC

I ended up with the Amvox 2 Chronograph Racing from 2009. I went for plain titanium because I was concerned about the PVD scratching (my OCD tendencies would come to the fore if I had a scratch on a PVD watch and I am not sure how easy/costly it would be
