My understanding is that multiples of 12 seconds are redundant, nothing of interest. The central regular, rhodinated second hand counts the seconds as usually, up to 60 seconds, than the minute counter jumps. The red laquared hand counts at the same time
So if that is all I have to judge, then most likely YES I would prefer this 5170P to ANY 5070 series again due to proportions, size, wrist comfort, and dial details. Sorry mon ami, most of the time we agree with our watch taste and before owning this 5170
