Soon to be auctioned: Cartier Tank Cintrée platinum.

According to them, it is a piece unique in platinum. Reference 2843J.

The only other Tank Cintrée I know is this one, belonging to our dear Geo:

As you can see, they are very close. The numbers are different, of course, as well as the cabochon in the top of the crown.

Super nice!

Best,

Nicolas

Both look great watches 😮 [nt]

Yes, I fell in love with Geo's one, which remains my favorite, due to its numbers. But this one is gorgeous as well! [nt]

I’m interested to see what this sells for.

I find this watch strangely attractive. I say strangely because red isn’t a colour I’d imagine on a dial that I’d wear.

Thanks for posting.

Totally with you on that. Thanks, Gary. [nt]

Both watches have in common

 By: Geo : July 4th, 2019-22:16
that they are not unique pieces.
On the back it reads no 1 and not 1/1.
Mine was made in a run of 7 pieces, as a special order for a client.
So I think this one is a special order too and probably made in a really small amount, like mine.
Interesting is that there is no ruby in the crown, but a sapphire.
Great post Nico!
GEO

Yes, I noticed the different cabochon. Lucky you, my friend. I am still in love with yours. [nt]

Just heard from a collector

 By: Geo : July 5th, 2019-06:35
That he had made a custom piece at Cartier, so actually a piece unique and on the back it reads also just No 1, like this one and like mine.
So to be a unique piece, it doesn’t need to have 1/1 on the back to be unique.

Thanks for the clarification, Geo. [nt]

The one Cartier model I've never owned.

And, perhaps because of that, it is the most desirable. Both this one for auction and Geo's are gorgeous and the red numerals do not in any way detract. They probably enhance the beauty of this piece. Great post.

Yes, the red touches make it even more desirable, Padj. What I think, too. [nt]

If I could find one, in some good financial conditions, it could well be my first Cartier! [nt]
