Altiplano is one of the best dress watches currently available on the market IMHO.

Thank you very much. Glad you share the appreciation for the Altiplano! [nt]

Very nice. The seconds indicator layout is odd, yet interesting. [nt]

I call it my creative/artistic side watch, due to its geometries and fine and refined details. It is a gem [nt]

Thank you very much! The movement and its winding feel and precision as well as sound, is better than any other manual modern movement I have experienced. It is magic to wind

So Alex, how do you compare the Altiplano to the Patrimony..

 By: Echi : April 14th, 2020-19:40
Or are they worlds apart? On the surface this may look more dressy (because of thinness and all that) but that's just a loose category these days. Do you wear one more than the other? Love this Piaget btw. That and the 900P. One of those brands that you hope can bring out a smash hit at some point a la Bulgari Octo.

Hi Echi, thanks for the very interesting question

 By: agyzace : April 14th, 2020-23:16
When I acquired the Traditionnelle’s and the Altiplano, I was assuming they were direct competitors.
I first acquired the Altiplano, as my creative thirst and my love for Piaget as a brand was too strong.
Then I acquired the boutique rose gold Traditionnelle, as its cream matt dial made it impossible to resist as a traditional, romantic watch.
Finally, I liked the rose gold version so much, that I acquired the platinum slate matt dial as its sophisticated yet still romantic sibling.
Now to how they feel.. the Altiplano and the Traditionnelle’s have a completely different winding feeling. The Piaget is the best feeling winding watch I have ever experienced. The feel, sound and precision is fascinating. Also the sound of the movement due to the lower frequency vs the VC’s is fantastic.
Having said that, the VC’s go for a bit longer in terms of power reserve although the single barrel.
In terms of accuracy, they are all unbelievably precise. /- 1s per day.
Finally, what I wear more. Here it is very easy. The platinum VC has gotten the most wrist time, as it can dress up or down thanks to its shape and colors. Then it is a tie between the Altiplano and the rose gold Traditionnelle. One when I am in a relaxed and good mood, the other when I am in a creative explosion and good feeling as well.
I hope this input helps my friend.
Happy to answer more questions.
Take good care,

Trust an owner to have more precise inputs..

There are reviews and there are ownership insights!

Surprised at the winding feel of the Piaget. I'd assume that since it's a more delicate piece (is that a right assumption) that the winding feel would be more satisfying with the VCs.. Kinda like me favoring the winding feel of a Panerai 372 over my Reverso. Although the experience on both is probably a far cry from either a Piaget or a VC.

Thanks for the enlightenment, Alex smile

my pleasure, my friend! The Piaget does not feel more delicate, no.

It feels super robust actually. It is a very surprising watch in every sense. An very unique overall as well, due to design, integrity of concept and pedigree of Piaget in both handwound movements and thin watches. All the very best my friend, Alex
