The Root Beer GMT was my grail watch as a teenager. I had a nipple dial two tone to start in my late 20's the shifted to a brand new one a few years later. Ultimately I got the all gold jubilee version about 6 years ago but I recently included it in a bulk trade for a PP 5970J. Ironically, out of all the watches that went into that trade the one I miss is the Root Beer. I don't know why. It got little wrist time in the past few years but it was nice knowing it was there. It's also the first time since I was 16 that I don't have a Dual Time watch. I think it's a GREAT complication and very useful. Interestingly, it also seems that it is harder to find good mint examples of one these days. I am surprised at this. The one I had was super mint. Anyway...I was wondering if the wee any other root beer lovers around here and if so...let's have a look. Thx for reading.
......Its not a watch I have ever owned or even had the luck of trying on my wrist...so i can't help with a personal shot. I suspect there are one or two owners who will be proud of their root beers
. . . and not planning on getting one, either, but . . .
. . . an acquaintance entrusted me with his vintage (early '80s?) root beer GMT when it required service. Original owner; he was thrilled to get it back in good working order.
