Tudor Black Bay Red.

 By: amanico : October 11th, 2021-07:40
With all these Tudor Black Bay Silver, Blue, and so on, I thought it was time to defend mine, with a photo.

As you can see rom the dial, it is the first generation with the ETA movement, which is fine for me, as it is  reliable and accurate movement.

Big, thick, but what a character!

Best,

Nicolas

You have nothing to defend there my friend.

IMO you have the most important BB to date on your wrist.
For me 9 times out of 10 the originals are always the best. As in this case.
The original Rose logo dial and ETA movement make this original version what it is. The original Tudor black bay.
Wear that stunner with pride my friend as one day everybody who loves Tudor will be searching for one.
Enjoy.
M.

Amen.

A really cool watch, my friend.

+1

Sure. I would happily add another one, but this one is here to stay.

U have the original

I remembered many years ago when you were among the pioneers to get this piece and review it. Before that it was only the maroon version. Do you remember those times?

The maroon version has a warm glow to it, accented by the gold tones used for the hands and lume pips.

Oh yes, I remember. I was one of its " lawyer ". Thanks, mon ami.

I remembered u most

Even after almost 5 years missing from this forum and lifestyle. You write with passion, and always got me excited to press releases and thoughts about pieces.

Thank you so much!

Mine is also first generation. I don’t think the in-house movement has anything over the ETA movement

I just discovered something about the silver version today

 By: Cookies : October 11th, 2021-13:03
It dents very very very easily. It is a fragile piece. It does not lend itself well to frequent strap changes as the springbar holes may become blunted over time. I had a mini-accident today changing straps, resulting in it’s first ding.

The first ding is the harder. Don't worry too much about that.

I love both of them. I would love to add the BB GMT to this one.

 By: amanico : October 11th, 2021-13:45

Definitely the best

I bought one, sold it, bought it again, and sold it again. My issue was not that the watch wasn’t great, it was just not suitable for my smaller wrist so I eventually settled for the BB58. Too bad it doesn’t come in burgundy and no smiley with the Tudor rose.

I understand exactly your experience

 By: Cookies : October 11th, 2021-13:39
The BB58 is more like a classic sportscar with elegant proportions, like those slender steering wheels on a vintage car. The standard version is muscular and beefed up, like a modern mustang. It sits high and powerfully. I have the exact same wrist size as Nico at 17cm. The 41mm seems to be my go-to watch that does it all. I could not sell it off for sentimental reasons (a birthday present from my partner).

You are in great shape!

The BB Fifty Eight is a great one. Enjoy, my friend.

Maybe u’d like me a lot, maybe u’d hate me. I’m polarizing.
But Cookies never hoards what he has. I often think of my friends, and get them things they’d least expect they need.
Today after 4 months of lockdown, he drove 45 minutes to visit his coach (a famous Czech swimming coach for the Oceans 7 marathons). Cookies bought him something he needed the most but could not buy because he spent all his hard earned money on his family. A solar powered Garmin Fenix Pro6. It made his day and gave him courage to remember he is a great coach after 4 hard months of no work due to the pandemic.

I am sure I would like you. ;)

The combination of burgundy bezel and matted black dial is always a winner, my friend. Especially without a date window. Best, Henry

I am in total agreement with you, my friend .

Great shot as usual dear Nicolas! I´m happy to know your love and enjoyment with this first series Tudor BB red bezel.

I also feel an special fondness for the first series of this watch. Nothing to say in contrary of the second series with the in house movement but I specially like the little details of the dial with the "smile" inscription and the rose emblem of the first.

I feel that Tudor should have kept them in the newer models. They could distinguish the second series with an inscription on the case back best. Just a personal view of course.

I also own second series Tudor BB which I find fantastic (specially the BB58 for its size) but insist in those two little details of the first series should have been maintained.

Keep enjoying and loving your Tudor my dear friend.

Abrazos desde las Pampas en Primavera amigo mio!

Abel

PS: Mine says hello!

This one taken from the most famous balcony in Paris! 😉

I remember the shot from the balcony very well. You are right on the text on the dial. It would have been great to have the same dial with the new movement.

Ha ha ha! Yes, I not only had the pleasure of meeting you but also had the privilege of visiting Vlads Lair! Lol! Glad you share same feelings about dial inscriptions. Enjoy your Tudor so much my dear friend!

i like the colour way of this original Nico but...14.8mm blunt sided case put me off these when I tried it (:

This version in BB 58 would be awesome wink

I agree that it is a bit thick, indeed. But still, for me, it is ok.
