For those who are not totally convinced by a good old gold vintage Rolex: Rolex Submariner 1680 in yellow gold.

Credit picture: Antiquorum.
It is hard not to fall in love with this chromatic combination, blending blue, chocolate and gold.
Best,
Nicolas

I’m certainly not convinced by the seller.

Maybe if it "looks" too good to be true?

IF all good, it is terrific. IF, and only IF, indeed.

If any auction house posted this, I'd be suspicious...
By: patrick_y : September 12th, 2021-22:15
But considering it's from Antiquorum... It's practically a guarantee that it's dubious!

No one mentioned the nipple markers...

Pretty unusual on their own.

On gold models, the GMT MASTER from the same era had them.

Exceptional piece there mon ami. For some reason, I much prefer the warmth and patina of vintage gold (colored metals) models than modern pieces. I guess the duller finish is less flashy, hence more subtle to wear 😉

Yes, I think you are right. Bill tried to convert me into vintage gold Rollies, and I must say that he managed to convince me.

it seems made for Abu Dhabi police, the bag has a crest of Abu Dhabi police, and the paper has a stamp of the Rolex exclusive dealer in Abu Dhabi.

My little contribution, even if not "color change" is a more than nice 1680 specimen
By: Peppo : January 18th, 2022-22:45
It's an early 660/200 with a correct "white number" insert and a very rare Pat Pend bracelet. Enjoy
