For those who are not totally convinced by a good old gold vintage Rolex: Rolex Submariner 1680 in yellow gold.

It is hard not to fall in love with this chromatic combination, blending blue, chocolate and gold.

I’m certainly not convinced by the seller.

Maybe if it "looks" too good to be true?

 By: MikiJ : September 12th, 2021-22:02
It is :-(

IF all good, it is terrific. IF, and only IF, indeed.

If any auction house posted this, I'd be suspicious...

 By: patrick_y : September 12th, 2021-22:15
But considering it's from Antiquorum...  It's practically a guarantee that it's dubious!

 By: amanico : September 13th, 2021-06:32

Not from auction house, but otherwise am convinced!

Good one!

 By: amanico : September 13th, 2021-06:34

Total stand out.

 By: Stoikos : September 12th, 2021-23:06

The watch, clearly.

 By: amanico : September 13th, 2021-06:35

Interesting to see this combination.

No one mentioned the nipple markers...

Pretty unusual on their own.

On gold models, the GMT MASTER from the same era had them.

 By: amanico : September 13th, 2021-06:35

Only the 18kt. GMT Masters?

 By: MikiJ : September 13th, 2021-13:58

Two tone, too.

Here is a full gold Sub:

And some GMT MASTER:

What I thought, too.

I Don’t buy that dial for a second.

 By: Miles_151 : September 13th, 2021-07:02
Shame a lovely watch is ruined.

As I said, IF correct only. ;)

 By: amanico : September 13th, 2021-07:18

Pardon my naive question, what about the dial is putting you off?

 By: csbracc : September 16th, 2021-10:59

I wonder, because I've seen several with this dial.

 By: amanico : September 16th, 2021-11:07

That bag…what’s with the seal???

 By: Esharp : September 13th, 2021-11:31

Impressive, the " bag ", indeed.

Exceptional piece there mon ami. For some reason, I much prefer the warmth and patina of vintage gold (colored metals) models than modern pieces. I guess the duller finish is less flashy, hence more subtle to wear 😉

 By: holdemchamp1225 : September 13th, 2021-12:10

Yes, I think you are right. Bill tried to convert me into vintage gold Rollies, and I must say that he managed to convince me.

 By: amanico : September 13th, 2021-13:57

LOL, maybe me too but I already had a few 😉😜🤣

 By: holdemchamp1225 : September 13th, 2021-13:58

Looks good,

 By: A.G : September 14th, 2021-05:29

it seems made for Abu Dhabi police, the bag has a crest of Abu Dhabi police,  and the paper has a stamp of the Rolex exclusive dealer in Abu Dhabi.

Which is reassuring, indeed. Thanks, AG.

My little contribution, even if not "color change" is a more than nice 1680 specimen

 By: Peppo : January 18th, 2022-22:45
It's an early 660/200 with a correct "white number" insert and a very rare Pat Pend bracelet. Enjoy

A real beauty in pristine condition.
