There are blue dials watches, and there are Rolex blue dials...

... And I feel no one can compete with the deep cobalt blue dial of this Rolex.
I know that most of collectors are not very fond of TT versions of their most popular tool watches (GMT and Subs) and I am not exception, but this 16613 blue dial had been haunting my mind for a long time.
So a few years ago when Rolex announced the new reference (a.k.a. Smurf blue dial/maxi case) replacing and discontinuing this old 16613 reference I took the decision to buy the last brand new example in stock at a local AD.
This one has seen little wrist time, but I can´t escape to the witchcraft of the blue dial each time I view it. I took it our of the bank safe box a few days ago, and will keep it wearing for some days now.
Have a nice day gentlemen!
Cordial regards, Abel.

I think this "Rolex-blue" is unmatched in the watch-business too!
I used to own this fellow...
The 16618 old
But this one, is just too much gold for me these days. However, the newer two-tone (116613LB) is actually itching a little again. Could be a future purchase
Thank you for your comment Ben! Glad you like this blue too. I also own a full gold Sub like yours, blue dialed too, but ...

... its original deep blue is changing to purple now. Very striking! It sees very very little wrist time though. A collector piece for me, too much bling on the wrist. The TT is a better choice for a daily wearer I guess! Thank you again! Cordial regards, Abel.
This deep blue (and partly this posting) had a bad influence on me. I am a weak person, ye, I know. - Yes, I initially made a comment in this posting here... - Yes, it's Friday 13th here...(Is it bad or is it good? I choose to believe it's good... ) - Yes, my dealer recently contacted me...
