The PG version was introduced in 2016 while the SS version has been introduced this year.

It is a beautiful piece and each time I see a Portugieser Rattrapante I think about Richard Habring!

My favorite still remains the Boris Becker green dial ...

There is a lot of love for Italy from IWC , they hade quite some special editions made for the Italian market. including a 3712 rattrapante with blue hands and this earlier Tachymeter scale

That one is offensive - almost looks fake.

It does take an aquired taste i think. It is very sought after in Italy and there is also a very `plain` version, regular dial lay out with blued hands and an insciprtion on the caseback commerating 150 years
