New Panerai Quaranta Verde Militare

Hi Paneristi,

What do you think about this new release by Panerai? Purists will not like the 40mm case but for my small wrists it’s the perfect size. Only 100m water resistance is a let down although more than what most need. I love the look and could consider pulling the trigger, but the recent P900 movement debacle has taken a bit (a lot actually) of shine off the brand. What do you think?

Not for me. The date, the wording, the size...

Not for me either, and I would add also because of the P900 movement (for me)

I didn't need the feel to mention such an obvious detail. :))))))

I agree on the movement. I wonder if all P900 have been downgraded. Some users report buying the Quaranta models recently that still have the hacking seconds

So basically a 4mm smaller version of the limited green dial 1056, with now the downgraded, undecorated, non hacking movement? My goodness.

Glad I got the 1056 when it was available.

I like the proportions of the Quaranta…

and I like green. The movement controversy is a concern. Many Panerai have basic movements though. It would come down to how it felt on the wrist and price.

Definitely overpriced, no question. But I really love the looks...

The tool watch has evolved into the statement watch.

Just another Panerai....

forget the purists. Panerai's commercial growth is steeped in 40mm models. The first 40mm Panerai was produced in...1999. If they still carry a grudge, they should...get a life...really! Some Luminor Due, are very nice IMO. I don't particularly like this one smile
