An old and funny shot: Panerai Pre Vendome Mare Nostrum Ref 5218-301/A and the Turtle.

Taken in Morocco some 12 years ago:

That is one of these watches I miss a lot, with my beloved Pre Vendome Logo. That pair was very alluring.

But we cannot rewrite History, alas.

At least I still have some fond memories about that watch.

Is he at least a snapping turtle?...

Is he ill tempered!?!

No, just a lazy one. [nt]

Good question! The snapping turtles are ill tempered!

 By: patrick_y : October 25th, 2020-15:03
All the tortoises I've met were fairly well tempered! Although I haven't met many! And the sea turtles in the Maldives are mostly well tempered, probably a little cautious not to get too close to me.

What they really need to guard these watches are...

Sharks with frickin laser beams attached to their heads...just saying...πŸ˜‰

And they need those to protect the endangered turtles too! [nt]

Interesting Nico that the 30 minute timer is a try β€œ9” while the running time is at β€œ3”

 By: darrony : October 25th, 2020-12:19
Or is that more common than I think?

You are right, not that common. [nt]

you do not consider to add another Mare Nostrum to your chronograph collection, only trying to help ;-)

That makes a lot of Mare! ;) [nt]

But perhaps it might be too large for a β€žnormalβ€œ European wrist?

42 mm " only ". [nt]

What a cool turtle! Or Tortoise.

 By: patrick_y : October 25th, 2020-15:00
In English we differentiate between turtle and tortoise.  In French I believe they're all "tortue."

I've always liked tortoises.  Especially ones with great taste in watches!
