This Panerai PAM 587... An obsession.

Just one picture taken almost one year ago...

Not a revelation, but a confirmation. A top modern Panerai.

One of the best, in my book.

It is a real deal Panerai.

I also fancy this model, love the case, crown, and pointy hands.  Good photo!

Yes, clearly one of my favorite as well. [nt]

Something special about this case without the crown guard

 By: JohnFM : January 8th, 2020-17:42
While I appreciate a crown guard on many PAMs, the symmetry without it really works on this watch, as well as on Ahoi's 662 ;-)

Nico, 2020 is your year for one of these classic Panerais, right?  Right!! ;-)

I think you are right. At least one, that would be great. 372 or 587... [nt]

What do you see as the pros and cons of each?

 By: JohnFM : January 8th, 2020-22:28
I realize this is a very personal question ;-)

Honestly, the 587 is perfect for me. The 372, I would have maybe changed the hands. And I say maybe, because I am not really sure. No, these two are must have for me. [nt]

I agree Nicolas that the 587 is perfect -- it is my favorite modern PAM

 By: JohnFM : January 8th, 2020-22:55
It's a beautiful, elegant Panerai with its simple MM dial and gold, pointy hands. It seems more special to me than the 372 but I do feel that the 372's thicker hands are perfect for its case with crown guard -- rugged. Do you prefer the acrylic crystal to sapphire?

I always prefer plexy to sapphire. [nt]

No doubt. My pick for the best rad 1940 case. (Nt)

Along with this damn 662. But I would rate the 587 slightly above the 662. [nt]

Whaaaatttt... i wouldn’t say so.

 By: Ahoi : January 9th, 2020-07:08
It depends for me as well what you have already.

Well, if you already have the 587, then the 662 is the way to go! ;) [nt]

LOL... if you have Luminor with a black dial, the 662 is the Radiomir to choose IMO... [nt]
