Anyone got this one on order? Thoughts otherwise?

Only buy it if you can't live without it!

The general rule to all things...  Only buy it if it's painful to live without it!

Not sure lol - wanted to get some general thoughts on it hahaha

A very good modern movement!

 By: patrick_y : September 22nd, 2022-23:07
Some people like me were critical that it was still a Cam driven movement and not a column wheel movement. The pusher feel isn't quite as nice as a column wheel movement. Price is fairly high, there are other beautiful watches to consider at this price. For instance, you could buy the steel version and still have some money left to get a nice Lange & Sohne Ultra Thin! (Just teasing!)

Huh - still getting on me for selling that Lange? Lol

 By: Ted-Lo : September 22nd, 2022-23:59

Lange just has a special place in my mind.

But the Omega Speedmaster is definitely a cool watch. I procured the steel version myself.

Well, we all love the Speedmaster, and we know this has been established by other brands as a winning formula…

with gold going particularly well with a green dial.  Plus, this choice of green hue is great.  That all being said, you’d expect this piece would get a proper dose of frenzied buying.  To be seen.

Yeah - I think it’s good looking too.

Whether many people will buy? I think? I don’t know….

I think it’s beautiful.

 By: MiguelFlash : September 23rd, 2022-00:48
But there are other beauties out there at that price point as well. This would certainly not be a bad choice!

What would be your alternatives? ;)

 By: Ted-Lo : September 23rd, 2022-01:05

What is attracting you to this?

 By: S F : September 23rd, 2022-03:10
Comparing with the steel, do you like it so much to pay about 6X more for the green dial and gold? Not for me….

Do let us know your thoughts.

I guess -

I am considering getting my first all gold watch and this seemed like a great contender. Awesome history, still quite available at retail, and great color in dark green. Def a lot more than steel counterpart but I guess you always pay more for gold. Otherwise, yes def so much more than steel one..

I can tell you that it’s absolutely epic on the wrist …

and you can have it on a rubber strap giving it an alternative look. I’m just deciding on this one or the gold panda version.
I have the Moonshine and it makes the decision a little more complicated. One thing is for sure, Omega won’t produce lots of them.

I’ve been watching vids on this.. i’d go with the panda! The green dial while nice may underwhelm in certain lighting conditions..

 By: Echi : September 23rd, 2022-04:31
I’d go with a speedy over a dayto anytime esp with the panda which will also look great on a black leather strap. i;m not a fan of the black rubber strap. Hope you get the panda so i can see more pics of it here. I think it’s a sleeper, the panda.

Thank you for your thoughts on this one …

The panda dial catches the light beautifully and the green dial is very subtle, but also very cool.

In a perfect world, both! And maybe throw in the sedna gold version as well :-)

 By: Echi : September 23rd, 2022-11:51

Yes - the panda is quite nice.

 By: Ted-Lo : September 23rd, 2022-06:51
But I guess I like green and it seems like the fad won’t always last long where green watches won’t always be available. As such, I am inclined to get nice green watches while they available. I feel like panda watches will always be around.

Your green BP is awesome.

 By: Nicetomeetyou : September 23rd, 2022-11:16
As you said, green watches won’t be made by watch co in this variety every year (compared to white/black dial). If green is your colour - feast!

Lol - yes true, now is the time to get green while you can. :)

 By: Ted-Lo : September 23rd, 2022-11:18

I agree ☝️

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 23rd, 2022-11:34

If you are a Speedmaster fan, well, why not. But for that amount of money, I would get a steel one, the Ed White, the Tokyo Olympics or whatever else, and I would have some money for another watch...

 By: amanico : September 23rd, 2022-05:48

Yes - the amount of money is def a major consideration.

 By: Ted-Lo : September 23rd, 2022-06:58
In this market now, I can get a used Master Compressor Geographic - IWC 7 Day Portuguese - and a VC 2nd Gen Overseas Chrono.
I guess all that still doesn’t scratch my full gold watch itch, but when you go full gold, you just pay I guess….

Yes, indeed, but the gap between steel and gold is a bit exaggerated, in my opinion.

 By: amanico : September 23rd, 2022-07:25

Yes - totally exaggerated, a bit too much to pay to play..

 By: Ted-Lo : September 23rd, 2022-07:37

I personally would go for the Sedna Gold & Black dial Speedmaster instead. Not much of a fan of the gold & green combination in general.

 By: nafetS : September 23rd, 2022-06:48

Yes - this is how a lot of people feel.

 By: Ted-Lo : September 23rd, 2022-07:00
I think I may be in the boat of liking gold and green, but honestly never seen it in person. I am almost feeling like green is more exotic and lower in price that calls me to me more… maybe

For mepersonally, it would be either a green watch or a Speedmaster then. Or hoping to get a white gold and green Speedmaster. But good luck getting that one, if it would drop.

 By: nafetS : September 23rd, 2022-07:31

Thank you - not sure what I’ll do yet, The white gold is nice but just

 By: Ted-Lo : September 23rd, 2022-07:39
Hard to get away from that the white gold doesn’t look like gold lol

It surely is a great watch and there's nothing wrong with it

 By: whatmakesmetick (andrea) : September 23rd, 2022-07:25
But if it were me, I'd buy a steel speedmaster and get a great high horology piece too, maybe something like a UN Freak X, a Breguet 7027 or a JLC Amvox 2

Yes - the good ol making you pay too much for gold conundrum.

 By: Ted-Lo : September 23rd, 2022-07:42
I have got the JLC Extreme Lab 2 and Duometre so even if I let one go I’ll still have a nice high horo piece and still an full gold piece. The full gold itch just may be calling me too much
