An Ω ref 3635 Marine . . .

. . . finally on my wrist and ready for action.

1942 production or thereabouts; possibly issued to the French market, but not necessarily.  The Marine was the 'waterproof' watch in Omega's line-up, powered by a T17 shaped movement.

Long fond of this dial incarnation since first spotting one at Omegamania twelve years ago.  (Has it been that long?)

There are obvious dial issues with mine, as well as not-so-obvious movement issues (the detent screw and lever were compromised and had to be replaced), but on the whole glad to source this one for half the hammer of the Omegamania example, including bespoke goat strap, buckle (signed Omega), and servicing.

Dial looks great untouched. Strap is sweet. Enjoy. [nt]

How did you do last night with it on your wrist?

Cheers,

Had four winning three-rail shots on the 8, loads of . . .

. . . one-rail shots on object balls, plus a near-miss on a symmetrical four-rail bank.

Not to mention half an hour of Motown classics on the jukebox, starting with . . .

. . . Eddie Floyd's masterpiece.  I mention this because until Thanksgiving Day I thought it was Wilson Pickett of "Mustang Sally" fame that performed this #1 R&B chart hit.

And Wilson Pickett, of course, was the inspiration for the license plate that had you befuddled.

;-)

I’ll never live that one down

If I’d grown up in a foreign country, I would know much more about American pop culture than I do now. Let’s just say I was on a different astral plane than most.

A very unique piece thanks to the minuterie. Thanks for sharing! [nt]

The dial design clinched acquisition - the bold minute track . . .

. . . and black hands are appealing, and then some.

There are so many variations of T17-powered references, many of which are attractive, but none so compelling as this one.  That it was selected for Omegamania speaks volumes, in my opinion.

Interesting ART...bcos I just came across something NOS that you’ll like...

. . . and honestly, the stark black vs white layout is a bit odd, particularly the hands.

It would be helpful to see close-ups of the dial and hands out of the case to make a definitive call.

Best,

Art

I’ll send you a PM...
