GP vintage 1960 chrono
I'd like to write a short review on my new/old GP vintage 1960 chrono. I have had a watch for three weeks and :
Size - 38 mm and because of cushion shape of the case, it wears more like 39-40mm. Perfect for my just under 7 inch wrist. Hugs my wrist nicely with slightly curved lugs. I like hefty watches and this one is a nice chunk of rose gold. Cushion shaped case, definitely has a vintage twist to it, which again I find very appealing. I also like oval pushers more than round, somehow they feel sturdier. The crown is another plus, which is nice jumbo size and easy to manipulate. 
Dial - is beautiful ivory color, with just enough writing on it, well balanced. It feels like an aged dial with nice even patina. Works very well with Rose gold case. Two register chrono, which I prefer much more than three register ones. Very symmetric another plus for me.
Applied pink gold numerals not painted, always preferred. Numbers are not cut off, a big sticking point for me.
Dauphine hands is one more big plus, my favorite shape, and again gives it a vintage twist. I also like the rest of the hands, which are nicely blued. I like that it has another complication of day and night at 9 o'clock. Both chrono hands are centrally located and from the first glance can be confused with rattraparante. Superb visibility of chrono with two long hands (no glasses needed).
Movement - I am not an expert by any means, just know that it is a modular movement with eta base and DD chrono module. Combining the facts that the watch has a solid back and movement is not seen, as well as me not being that technically oriented (to the degree) the modular movement does not seem to bother me. Considering that some brands utilize those modular movements and retail their watches for 100k.
So far performance is very good, gaining 3-4 sec a day. Chrono also works flawlessly. Power reserve is rather short, probably 30 hours, but for the watch without a date it does not concern me that much.
This is my first GP and I am very pleased with this model, as you can probably tell.
Pound for pound this speciment is hard to beat, just my opinion. You are obviously entitled to your own. Thx.
Solid case back, modular movement, delicious dial, squperbly shaped case...
There are indeed many reasons to love this Chrono. And I love it. I may well try to find one for me, this is something I have in mind for a while...
The only small reserve I have it that I find it a bit too thick, BUT this is something I could easily live with.

This model is definately on the thicker side, apprx. 14 mm and heavy, but because of the mild curve in the lugs, it sits on the wrist pretty well. This Top heavy watch will in no way substitute your stollen Dato, but might feel similar on the wrist.

I also owned a Vintage 45 Chrono, the small size ( 1999 )
I loved its curved case back, I know how you feel about it.
I should have never sold it!

I was pleasantly surprised, by how much I liked this watch, as u can tell by my post. It just had all the right parts and so far the perfofmance is outstanding. I agree it is a tremendous value.
