Looks fantastic on your wrist.  Any pics of the movement?

Nothing extraordinary but it works well.

Funny enough, this chronograph although with blue dial, I don’t remember the reference, was my introduction to GP. A watch I still think of from time to time and would love to own at some point.

Is it a specially commissioned dial.

I visited the manufacture in 2007 and we saw many remaining watches for the past collections that they were preparing to sell them to their workers.
I asked if there was any 4946 left as it was not produced anymore.
There was none.
A few weeks later they called me saying that they had all the parts available to assemble one for me. The previously sold dials were no longer available so they offered me to choose amongst prototype dials. Apparently they made three of this one.
And I bought it.
That was another era.

This is quite interesting to me.

Those were the days when GP was a flexible and would offer special dials and such when asked.

It make sense now when you said 2007.

I put some pics of your prototype dial next to the final production one.

I see two differences:

1. 11,12,1 and the rest the applied indices.

2. No “automatic”.

I would have asked GP to engrave“prototype” on the caseback. 😃

Thank you for shairng this picture.  I really love the dial layout, seems very balanced and not too crowded looking to me.  The colors used are great and I love the gold hands and markers.  Great piece!

The colours are quite rare and work perfectly. It looks very classical and classy, and like no other.
