Blancpain or Breguet – which watch company do you place more value and prestige in…? They are both owned by the Swatch group… I am looking at the Blancpain Flyback Chron and comparing that to the Breguet XXI TransAtl Flyback Chron.
I like the look of the Breguet better but was under the impression that Blancpain was a better brand…? I just learned that the Blancpain is based on a 21600 caliber movement as opposed to the Breguet and most other watch brands that are based on a 28800 caliber movement. My Zenith El Primero is 36000 and supper accurate – I have a 28800 movement which comes close to the El Primero and a David Yurman automatic which is not very close (not sure of the vph).
I am concerned that I am overpaying for a 21600 movement. I am able to find this watch at a local jeweler that is going out of business and discounting the watch by 50% ($6k) which puts it a few thousand below the Breguet ($8k). Although I like the Breguet better, the Blancpain seems to be a much better value - both watched have a steel bracelet. However, with that said, I do not want to end up with a watch that fails in comparison in accuracy to my El Primero. I made this mistake with my David Yurman - before I became an educated watch enthusiast

Interested in everyone's thoughts.
... IMO

for an "Elegant Sports" look - just to confuse you more. They are quite classy.
I looked at at all of these before going for a JLC . . .
