AP ROO RG Rubberclad... My dream, my dilema... Suggestions?

OK I am about to purchase a grail daily wear and still dressy dress watch. A Platinum Rolex DD with the Ice Blue dial and Romans. I have lusted after it for years. Sure I know tons of people are saying what a wast BUT it is what I have craved in my head for years so... After that I still have close to 18K in pieces I am selling as I just do not wear them nor appreciate them anymore.
I LUST after the RG Rubberclad but even used it is still quite a bit more than the 18 I will have....
What do you do? Do you get another ROO more in my price range (I rather buy used)?
Do I look at a vintage Rolex piece (DRSD) I have always loved? Do I look at a Hublot? Do I look at a YG/RG Daytona?
Or do I TRY to not spend that money on something else and TRY to save more to get the RG Rubberclad (sounds great in theory but if I have that much play money around I know I will spend it on something else before I get enough extra play money to buy the ROO RG Rubberclad.
I am NOT trying to debate the investment of the watches or whose better but what better suit my situation is the problem.
... you are now with the Pt Rolex in a few years time with the AP: you will be selling the watches you have bought between now and then that you "just don't wear or appreciate anymore". Not that that's a bad thing (and there are many here who have done just that - ask Graham about his UN Freak one day) but you are likely to get to the ROO RG Rubberclad a bit sooner if you put your head down and add to the 'play money'.
OK I belong to several watch boards yet this is the only one I asked this question on. One simple reason....
I knew the people here would have the class to give a fair balanced answer without slamming another brand.
Thank you for being such a great group here!!!
Such a tough call! I do not know what I am going to do as honestly even on the second hand market it's way above what I want to spend so I may end up with the Daytona or a Hublot till I am able to do it right and get the RG Rubberclad.
I love the idea of saving what I have and adding to it but I know it would take several months and my toy fund would end up somewhere else first haha.
I am going to keep my eyes open and try to find the right deal on a second hand RG Rubberclad but you rarely see them used and never at a good deal.
The rose gold ROO is such a beautiful piece. The Hublot is a similar look and used ones can be found way below your 18k but its just not the same.
As for the Rolex, the PT glacier blue dial DD is actually my favorite Rolex other than some of the vintage pieces that I could never bring my self to buy just because of their prices.
Does the ROO RG Rubberclad have a screw down crown?
I know that sounds silly but if I have a nice sports watch I dont wanna worry about taking it off or it being in a room safe when traveling and I decide to take a swim.
Does this make sense or would only a total tool/fool jump in the pool wearing a watch like this?
I do really like the Hublot BUT I have a BIG hang up on my sports watches having a screw down crown (when traveling I hate leaving a watch in a safe if I decide to go into the pool if its not a dress watch)
Main ? I still have is what do you guys think about it on a 6.8 in wrist.
I have owned and wore a Rolex DSSD & Panerai 233 for my big watches and I do not feel either looked off on my wrist.
I have had a couple tell me to get a RO but it just is not what I want at this time in my life. I am certain I will own one someday in the near future but not at this moment. So, what do you guys think about a ROO on a 6.8 in wrist, sure I know it can be done but do you think it looks ok or does it look silly?? I want your opinion here.
