And a new reference will substitute it

Oh... if true, then it will be another Nautilus drama🧐

AP going for that Marvelverse money.

Not surprised. In fact, this goes back many years.

I have posted it numerous times, AP plans out 5-10 years in advance. Long live the reference...

Wow, very nice photo, mon ami.

Excited about any “replacement”

Incredible run!

Great to also see we can retrofit the watches with the new quick-release strap system. Wonder if this will apply to Gold and Titanium models?

Also good that they dispelled the rather horrible photoshopped Iron Man Royal Oak that’s been circulating...

Off to 10th of April!

Cheers,
Peter

Oh you can retrofit the new straps ? Wonder if they wud they be made avail for all 38-42mm bracelet models

But isn't that the purpose of easy/quick change endlinks to switch bnf btwn bracelets to bands ?

Or just changing strap type and color

But you may have a point

Not a surprise, the 15202 movement makes the other base movements look bad, they need to kill it and put in something cheaper, and charge more :p

Truth is always harsh to accept 👍

Lolz...I luv that ref precisely because its so retro. Price is another story.

No surprise here...

Not sure why everyone is acting like this was a shocking development today. 50th anniversary of the Royal oak is in 2022! AP has a ton up their sleeve I'm sure..

now it does seem like PP front-ran them and twisted APs arm to come up with something anew for the 50th. Though PP hasn't announced a successor just discontinuation afaik.

 By: redcorals : March 29th, 2021-10:04

They actually did hint that a new reference will replace the 5711

By: Mohannad (aka Riddler) : March 29th, 2021-10:40

Oh they did? All the more reason for AP to step up. But I still find it very interesting that PP discontinued 5711 first. This gives PP a longer runway to come up with a succesor while AP only has 6-8mos to introduce it..

 By: redcorals : March 29th, 2021-11:08
...hopefully AP had a two hand calibre they were toying around with.

I’m sure it was planned for a while now

If AP replaces caliber 2121, the new 15202 is „dead“ ...

 By: flopi3 : March 31st, 2021-12:24
... it is also this original RO caliber 2121, which makes the 15202 so special. The caliber of the PP5711 is boring compared to that.
But I can’t imagine that AP would do such a drastic mistake.

Now it is done, wonder if there’re fewer 15300st than 15202st?
