It's a fantastic watch indeed even the rotor makes an interesting sound, it must be the ball bearing effects if I'm not mistaken. One think I've noticed is the skeleton hand painted in blue, it isn't a blue steel.

If the RDM has it I think the newer version of all JLC automatic rotor have this kind of unique noise and I miss that noise when I switch to the other watch.
Useful it is, I see the second timezone as the second most important feature after the date. Prior to the purchase I was in dilemma between the Hometime, Reverso squadra GMT and Master Calendar and then I came across the post of Nicolas about the Master Control that makes me even more confuse. To cut the story short, I finally decided to stick
with my first choice which is the Hometime since my original plan is
to find a watch to replace GMT Master beater.

Sorry to hear about the sacrificing blomman, the old model is a gem. I'm sure sure you got another precious watch.
I'm not planning for the watch to take some hit but you're right Dean, I've always treat my watch as a tool not a jewelry . I've read Suitbert's article about cal 975 and how tough it's suppose to be, I bought the watch few days after.
