Hi All,

I just came back from Geneva with a full suitcase of Dreams.

Let me first quickly intorduce you the new JLC watches, this year.

Of course we'll come back on each of these novelties in dedicated posts, but as I know you well, you would kill me if I didn't make this quick introduction post.



1/ The Tribute To Reverso 1931.

It is impossible to ignore that this year is THE year of the Reverso, which celebrates its 80th Anniversary.

For this occasion, JLC decided to allow everyone to celebrate with the Grande Maison this birthday, with some affordable models:

The non limited Stainless Steel Tribute to 1931:



The Rose Gold limited edition Tribute to 1931:



These pieces will be available in April 2011, from what I've been told, the prices are 5500 Euros for the SS, and 11 500 Euros for the Rose Gold, being precised that the Rose Gold will be limited to 500 pieces.

2/ The Grande Reverso Enamel.

For the moment, it will be available only in Rose Gold, and it is a limited edition of 100 pieces.

The warmth and the fascination of an enamel dial...



3/ The Grande Reverso Ultra Thin ( unlimited ).

A well known and timeless dial with the stunning " Ultra Thin " case, in stainless stell or in rose gold.



4/ The Grande Reverso Duo.

In Stainless steel or in rose gold, a friendly complication, expressed in an elegant way:



5/ The Reverso Minute Repeater:

It is a limited editionof 75 pieces, in white gold.

The dimensions are 55 x 35 mm, and a reasonnable 12 mm high.

You will notice that there is no gasket to activate the Minute Repeater... The curtain does it all!

6/ The Tribute to Deep Sea Alarm:

What more to say that it has already been said?

The US Version, limited to 359 pieces ( 9500 Euros )



The European Version, limited to 959 pieces ( 9500 Euros )



Delivery expected in June.

7/ The Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Lady.

Cal 657, smaller than the man size ( 40 x 24 mm ), because our ladies also deserve a fine watch.

8/ Some other novelties.

A Gyro II in Rose Gold?

Why not!



A new Navy SEALs Chrono, an all new Master Chronograph in ceramic, a Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater, a Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon, a Master Chronograph with a very nice black dial, a very fine Master Géographique....

We'll see all that in the detail, of course... Later, with real live pictures.

9/ General thoughts: Another superb year for JLC, which succeed in mixing Tradition and Innovation with talent.

My favourite pieces are the Tributes, Deep Sea Alarm and Reverso, but how can we resist to the charm, the fatal attraction of the new Reverso Minute Repeater, or ...

A frustration, and please note that it is just my point of view, about the Grande Reverso enamel, which I would have loved to see in white metal, but, with a bit of luck, it may come later.

Another interesting and enthusiasming point is that JLC also released some great developments of watches which already exist, like the Duometre à Quantième Lunaire, and re introduced other watches which made us dream, such as the Master Géographique.

I thought that JLC had also released a new ATMOS, but I might be wron.

I didn't have much time to prepare a better post, but we'll come back to each of these novelties, and believe me, there are some pearls to discover, here.

As for the Atmos, you're correc,t there is a new one which is very appealing.

I would say that the most important thing is that JLC managed to release some exciting but affordable watches, such as theTT 1931.

The Home Pages of JLC are giving some "funny" information like the Enamel Reverso in SS or the Ladies Ultra Thin in White Gold high jewelry version... Do you have any additional information?

NO white metal for the Reverso enamel, nor white gold for the Lady UT.

100% sure about that.

Sadly, because, like you, I would have loved to see the Reverso enamel in white metal.

One day, maybe?

Anyhow, the home pages of JLC under 2011 Collection tell that Reverso Email is made in steel and RG, references Q3738422 (180 pieces) and Q3732422 (80 pieces). Anyhow, other forums tell that 180 pieces are in steel and 89 pieces in Red Gold.

True, this does not correcpond with what we saw and heard in Geneva. But I hope JLC's site is right.

Of course you return with some tantalizing pieces of information.   A NEW Navy SEALs Chrono?!?!?!  An all new Master Chronograph in ceramic -- I must hear more about this one!!!! 

Yes, I wish for a white metal enamel dial Reverso, and I also thought from the JLC web site and press releases that we would get one in SS, but it sounds like that is not so certain anymore. I am not sure if I should be relieved (for my wallet's sake) or sad.  I will just await further news on that Reverso.

Yes, this is another exciting year from the Grande Maison.

Dressy, complicated, highly complicated, nostalgic, sporty, I think that they covered everybody's taste.

Don't worry, I took some pics of the watches you mentionned, and we'll speak very soon about them.

One thing I can confirm: There will be NO white metal Reverso enamel. 100% sure.

On the MJLC website it is written that the Reverso Email will be available in 2 limited editions, 180 SS and 80 PG. Is this a typo on their part?

Will comment more on the novelties later.

Thanks for the flash update - I would love to get my hands on the ceramic Master Chronograph, even though I haven't even seen it. And the new version of the Master Geographic is to die for - this one is REALLY gone pull my heartstrings. Alas, I doubt my budget will allow for any additions this year. So, I'll have to live off of the photos. Can't wait to see more.

To say it better, a tendance which started last year, and which goes on this year:

Smaller watches when it comes to dressy watches,  and reasonnably priced.

Which are 2 important points, indeed.

The first 3 reversos are extremely nice, but sadly I still don't see myself wearing such a small watch...

Not only they loved the bTT 31 in SS, but they ... ordered it, at their big surprise, because, like you, they thought that it may be too small.

The only advice I can give you is to try it, you'll see.

impressive year yet. There are a number of pieces which are priced for humans and VERY appealing. I've added the Master Moon, Master Geographic and DSA to my wish list and I haven't even seen the ceramic or black dial chronographs yet. Tough choices lie ahead. On the more luxurious side of things, I may have fallen in love with the Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon in platinum.  JLC has given me a headache.
