Just curious, it's my first Jaeger, and I just received it last week. It's an AMVOX3 in pink gold, I'm hypnotized by its beauty.. but I do have one question.. on the back where it says XXX/300 the XXX part is sort of faint, like they inscribe it after the fact. The font is therefore not black, it's like engraved in the metal. Does this make sense? I wish I could take a proper photo, I don't have a macro lens for my SLR yet.

The watch was ordered through a reputable dealer, it was sealed, the box was sealed, etc. It's definitely legit, I was just surprised with the engraving.

It is usual.

Interesting. I wonder why this is the case. I mean, why wouldn't they just sequentially number them in production, then just sell them in order or something? I don't imagine they build a small amount, I imagine they build the entire allocation and then inventory them...

I wonder what the process is. Either way, I'm in love this this watch. I want the platinum version now, but I'll probably get a 5960P instead.

Anyway, I agree with you on the 5960P rather than " doubling " the Amvox III with a platinum version.

...agree, although when I look at the gold Amvox3 I now realize the face on the Platinum is probably "sharper" to look at. Either way I'm very happy with this watch. It's subtle, yet elegant, amazing to look at --- and no one knows what it is, which is what I like best about it.

Nobody knows what it is, exactly...

It is a personal pleasure.

A watch which you can really appreciate in the real life, rather than in pictures.
