I love the contrast of texture of the backside--and how the engraving follow the curve of either the wheels or screws.........just gorgeous.  A wonderful play of light and shadows as well....

Hi,

For me blue is really a must on a watch... But it should be obtained with the only acceptable process: flame!

Chemical blueing is just a poor imitation and only makes me think about cheap chinese productions...

If not blueing it in the right way, why blueing it all? For me a good "polished" is 100 times better than a bad "blued"!

what an exciting piece...! The large and generous blue surfaces reveal even more if the piece's magic than the black does already. That alone makes me forgive the unforgivable mistake (my opinion ;-)) of introducing a display back... For me it was love at first sight (excluding the price;-):

An entirely different 'beast' is the blue 50 Fathoms Moonphase Chronograph

I recall the tremendous stirr the limited edition white gold version created when it was presented some time ago, so I was anticipating similar reactions this time.

But I was wrong, most people seem to be critical of this watch. Probalbly because it appears like a sheep in a woolf's fur. Plus, Blancpain seems to be not sure what to do with this watch. The guillochage on the center part of the dial as well as the transparent case back might hint this.

So, this is a 'playful' interpretation of a toolwatch that is even farer apart from its original purpose? Or a romantic reminder on the natural elements in nature? Its your take to decide!

Enjoy it, and wear it a lot!
