Horological Meandering

"Cometh the hour, cometh the Frog".





I want to say thanks to Thomas and the organisers of last nights ChocoFrog viewing for a wonderful evening.

Having never met anyone before I stepped into the boozer hesitantly looking for some Purists. I needn't have worried about finding them though, it was instantly clear
that the small throng propping up the bar and fervently swapping watches could be none other than fellow forum members.

Over the following few hours much food and drink was consumed and the time melted away in a constant stream of conversation.

Thanks to Thomas for being so generous with the Frog and allowing everyone to try it on. It's a brilliantly realised horological creation
and the pictures really do not do it justice.

Of course it was a "watch on each wrist" evening and it was great to see and handle so many other fabulous and rare watches in one sitting. Truly a horological feast.

Forgive the dodgy pictures, the lighting was poor and it was taken at the end of the evening.

Great to meet all at the dinner ;-) and see the choco frog in the real ;-) its mad as cut snake ;-)

Looks like a nice gathering and of course the showing of the choc frog!  I wish I could have been there and looking forward to attending the next London GTG!

just from the table shot I can tell who was there...LOL...makes me sad to not have met up with old friends and made some new ones too, but I'll be there at the next GTG.  Yep the London Purists are a fun bunch and always make you welcome

Eitan, considering the extremely low lighting your pics have turned out very well. i'm still recovering from 2 days on a train so i'll post mine later.

it was nice to meet new people especially the chocolate frog and the bearer of the frog.

now its back to reality.

i know the lighting was appalling for taking pics of watches, but i didnt expect mine to turn out so bad. i've managed to salvage a few, i cant name the wrists so you'll have to just guess. if anyone present wants to take these pics from my gallery please feel free to help yourselves. 

i'll say it again, it was a great night and the pics arent as important as the friendship we shared.

Thanks for the coverage, Graham. Were there actually frogs legs on the menu? I would have ordered them just to be in the mood of the evening. Looks like you all had fun, and as you say, the watches just lubricate the conversation which is always interesting and intense when PuristS get together.
