Anybody knows how good the mechanism of the Romain Jerome watches is? what do u think of the moon dust dna one? sems very original, I wonder if u get tired of it after a few month... not sure.
the titanic DNA.... scary thought to wear that one, or maybe not? the CEO of the co said in an interview that some feng shui analysis showed great positive energy in the pieces....
My feeling is that you are buying the design and idea. The movement becomes secondary in this ‘case’, but whether the design (and the DNA embedded within) is worth the premium only the individual buyer can tell.
Some of their watches make me smile (I particularly liked the scattered aliens in the Roswell version), but I have my own list of priorities in watches that don’t include bits of rock, steel and other materials from history.
Not sure about the feng shui of the Titanic piece, but it’s a nice reminder that you were lucky enough to be somewhere else when the ship sank!
It’s a bit hard to tell whether the ‘novelty’ will wear off, but some RJ’s are appearing in the secondary market.

i find RJ watches nice in design and idea , if i am to use my wise collectors mental abilities , i would consider buying the RJ in one case is that im so admiring it that i won't be selling it and in the case of im selling it then im not in hurry to get it on the move , as RJ don't seem to be a fast moving watches from what i've seen and experienced and they don't maintain a high resell value .

These are my reasons:
I liked the Titanic because of the idea and the marketing. When I saw and examined it, the workmanship on my watch was exceptional, the hands, the dial, the case and crown were well cut, well defined, and of a very high quality. Easily comparable to many Cartiers and Bulgaris, that level.
This is a watch that is not at all about the movement..Just like when I bought my first few Panerais in the mid 90s.
I chose one with enough rust and a rough dial with coal dust.
I wore it very often, and I still own it today.
When I saw the Moondust, I did the same. The quality was as good.
For me, I wanted these watches because of the way I collect watches, I buy and place them in (1) History, era or a trends, these I place in 1 box. (2) Super watches, these in another box, (3) Complications in another box and (4) icons in one more box, and (5) Memories and anniversaries in the last.
So...the RJ watches go into box 1.
I hope this helps.
