My Purchase for October 2009
"MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!!"
I bet there are not many people in the world who is not familiar with this iconic phrase. I also bet that there are many people in this world (at least those near my age group) who remembers going into the darken cinema and being blown away by the movie that unfolded before us.
For me it's hard to believe that it has been more than 30 years since the premiere of Chapter 4. How time flies.
Anyhow, for October and being a fan of the original Star Wars Trilogy, I went for a watch which commemorated the 30th Anniversary of the premiere of the first Star Wars movie.
Its a quartz chronograph by a company called GSX from Japan from their Smart Style line. GSX produced several models for this event, mostly quartz chronos and several automatic ones. Please check out their website for the other models and other lines click here . In addition to Star Wars, they also produce several other movie/character tie-in watches.
The one I bought is the RD-D2 model. I believe the watch presents a top view of the x-wing fighter with the dial depicting the part of the x-wing where R2-D2 is situated. The top of R2's dome is represented by the sub-seconds dial. The nose of the x-wing is depicted on the top strap (u can see the top of Luke's helmet) and the tail-end of the x-wing is on the bottom strap.
Check out the smiley face on the crown, a whimsical touch which I like.
It's a fun watch, perfect for a fanboy like me. Thanks for looking and “May the Force be with you”.

Neat watch...
As I have a six-year-old with a Star Wars obsession, I like to see interesting creations like this. Nice design, subtle details, and the lume picture is striking!
