For more of the same...

because it means:
1) the price hikes will continue year after year and the industry will use modeling fees as the justification
2) I will never be allowed to visit another watch store again if my wife found out that women were being "caged" to sell luxury goods.
Really they do this in Russia?
Mike
Even if I don't like GG, I will stop by to take a look.
However, I doubt this is an acceptable method in Asian culture. Like it or not, people may link it with prostitution (in Singapore, prostitution is legal). Then, it may create problem. I believe this has happened in a lot of private and VVIP viewings which offered "packages" to the guests.

I know I still have a lot to learn about timepiece collecting but buying watches with such packages. Man! Should have know some thing was left out when I bought my Dato
I hope not as the watch is merely noticiable.
Cheers

Succinctly put, Marcus!
Jokes aside, individuals have to give certain considerations and respect to the sort of information published to elicit participation and comments.
In the context of Singapore, women make up 50% of the population. Hence, there should be gender equality. The exploitation of sexism in media has been detrimental to the elevation of gender equality in today's world, all thanks to the patriarchal society.
In my personal opinion, watches that require sexism to sell inflict doubts and captivate mostly men, owing to their low neuroticism.
Well made timepieces do not require such media exposures that comes in tandem. For example, timepieces crafted by Philippe Dufour and Kari Voutilainen are classic and adequate examples. None of these watches requires sex to sell.. as the intricate and impeccable finishing coupled with the contemporary dials continue to be a favourite, pursued, aquired and inspired the vast majority of connoisseurs and some novices who have embarked on fine timepieces.
These timepieces which are frequently referred to as masculine can be easily transformed into feminine by a change of accessories (e.g. leather strap) , thus, there should be no compromise of one gender for the benefit of the other. The 'education' on such media portrayal should really come to a halt as these information are read by many, especially if the watch industry players are adamant to nurture the younger generation in horological appreciation, collecting and participating.
At the end of the day, I believe some readers who see and read this website and its forums are parents themselves and they would very much appreciate and value more positive and constructive inputs from the societies and there are always children of parents who post something somewhere that eventually read their elder generations input and reflect on it.

Appreciate the response you wrote Ming. I believe many agree with me on this matter, but many will also disagree in some ways. Most important is when anyone wants to put out his or her opinion, being professional and tactful are basic guides considering the article is posted out by MODERATOR and the WHOLE WORLD might see and read it. Each forum has its own moderator and I believe to be a moderator, certain qualifications are required. To make the forum a nice place to visit and stay around for everyone regardless of gender is definitely very easy but often neglected as I have seen it happen many times. MODERATION by MODERATOR will not hurt REPUTATION.
Cheers,

Apologies that you were offended.
The pictures are a reflection of how most magazines use girls and models this way today. Pateks, Hublots, RMs..all the same..likewise, remember the pics of Dufour in a room with a scantily clad girl in Revo? And all the rest?
All these can be picked up by our children from my watch magazines lying around the house.
Wow..your words and post are quite pointed. I hope you have also written to the magazines that have published these pics...and used the same visual agendas.
Again...just to recap..this post is a question for discussion. There are less children who visit this site than there will be who read the watch magazines, or browse thru them.
I have no issues with both for and against...personally.
I respect your views.
Is not me.
"Each forum has its own moderator and I believe to be a moderator, certain qualifications are required. "
I take this to mean that I have not met with your requirements.
"To make the forum a nice place to visit and stay around for everyone regardless of gender is definitely very easy but often neglected as I have seen it happen many times. MODERATION by MODERATOR will not hurt REPUTATION."
To make this place, meaning the forum that I volunteer, and am not paid for, to "moderate" ..of mediocrity and of no color is NOT me. I am not here for "my reputation" but to bring "provocation" and to render an inetrpretation of "provocative" to Genta's trademark motto..which happens to be "provocative".
I see my own role as a person to bring light entertainment, and conversation, and thought provocating questions.. the technical matters...I leave it to several members of he forum to post...unless at times, I am the only person to have the info..say on "certain" highly secretive projects.
My role in Genta's forum is to bring color and a spectrum of discussion..from erotic watches to minute repeaters. ALL of them..in every perspective.
The post was (1) meant as a question.
(2) Meant to provoke thought.
(3) I hope I am not misreading your words as a personal attack on my character..that goes beyond the boundaries of a "discussion" of a topic.
However, I have certain VERY strong personal standards by which I try to adhere. ie if I attack a certain position...I do also do it "across the board". For eg..when I disagreed with journalistic standards last year, I spoke up against it not just attacking the minority and small magazines which can't hurt me...but also against the biggest of publishers. I had to be fair.
Now, for this case...maybe you should write to ALL the magazines that employ women as sexy models for watches, applying the same rules.
Linda..I hope I am not sounding rude. I am simply..."annoyed".
I have the highest respect for you as a person...I want to clear this up..for the sake of friendship. If it matters to you. I hope this is some sort of misunderstanding on my part.

This way you wont care about the price!

I really feel grateful for some who show support through positive response openly like you and Ming, plus those who PM me. I was about to give up already. It can be discouraging for 'a little girl to play at her favourite playground when she feels unsafe and disturbed by naughty boy, specially when the playgroound is frequented by boys, mostly'. I like PuristSPro website for many reasons and friendship is one of them. I gain friends and enrich my knowledge. Grateful for that.
Your words has encouraged me to stay on. Thank you, Marcus.
Cheers,
