Watches with or without date on the dial

For a watch that is dedicated to the calendar, it works perfectly.

To a watch that is dedicated to pure measurement of time, like a chrono, its a no-go for me. If a watch has a chronograph, for me it should not have a date on the dial. There are of course some exceptions, but as a general rule.

When form follows function, as in annual . . .

Well, I said it thousand times. No date, unless it is a big date or a perpetual or annual calendar.

I would add the vintage, at a time when a date was something remarkable, a true plus.
