Everyone has a fantasy/dream watch
that no one makes (yet). Here's one I would like to see. There's plenty of the ultra thin watches around and I would like to have one, but with other priorities in the way it'll have to wait. What I would like to see is an ultra thin Rolex Cellini in stainless steel, time only, maybe a moon phase.

It's a perversely uncommon Omega reference; for every cal 505 Seamaster in my experience, I've probably seen a hundred Connies. Over the years, I've come across a dozen or so altogether. Steel, gold-capped, two-tone, 14 kt and 18 kt solid.
All had white dials.
I'm curious as to whether Omega (or Norman Morris) ever issued one in black.
That would be my next target, if existence was confirmed.

What are your concerns about RWS’ shock protection?
Just curious, as it’s a regular incabloc.
As I understand it, the co-axial escapement itself is way less tolerant of shock than a swiss lever.
A watchmaker who worked for Omega told me to go swiss lever whenever possible.
Interesting. I've never heard this.
The escapement geometry that George Daniels designed produces very secure locking, as far as I'm aware. Having worn an Omega co-axial regularly for close to 10 years, I've never had an issue related to shocks. If you are skeptical of the Omega design specifically, I'd point out that Roger Smith uses his own interpretation of the perfect geometry and construction.

The watchmaker did have a heated talk with Roger about the co-axial and the differences between Roger's vs Omega's versions. They are separate things by now.
I would love...
a perpetual calendar, moon phase, sunrise/sunset and equation of time watch, in white gold with a cream-colored dial; at a 40mm diameter and with a height of 12.5mm or less. At an affordable price. OR...the U.N. Moonstruck at half the size, which would be a decent compromise. Whichever costs less.
And also a talented watchmaker close by
who would drop everything else to service this watch when I brought it in for service.
And though I prefer hand-wound movements
I would want this one to be automatic. Assuming for the moment I could still afford to keep at least one other watch after buying this one there would be times I wouldn't wear it. Strapping it onto a watch winder would be so very convenient.
