Excelsior Park Chronograph for the Self Defense Japanese Air Force.
Here is a Chronograph I missed... I was waiting to see, a bit, as it was out of my budget.
It has everything I like: A superb tropical dial, a great movement ( EP 4 ), and history.
37 mm case.
Credit pictures: Analog and Shift.
Should I add, the condition... Look at this case!

But this piece is simply gorgeous ! I especially like the curved, sweeping lines of the lugs. Classic!

What's the history of excelsior Park? I recall reading bout them previously when I was playing with vintage chronographs, but not in enough detail
A player during the golden age of chronographs
From my hazy memory: I think they were incorporated in the 1920's with financing help from the Gallet family of Gallet watches. EP manufactured their own movements. Like Padj said, they supplied Gallet. I believe EP movements were used by Girard Perregaux too. EP took a beating with the quartz age and I believe they were liquidated and Gallet bought up their stock.
So you can see that the GP Olimpico 9075 is a rebadged... Excelsior Park Ref 5415. ;) [nt]
