I am sad, furious, and emotional reading that Nicolas has been the victim of theft once again. I won't ask the proverbial what is wrong with the world. More than can ever be fixed.
But here is a chance to show what is right.
We have all learned from Nico over the years. We all enjoy his friendship and genuine heart. He is here for every one of us, every day. Let's erase this bad memory for Nicolas and his daughter, and replace his watch. It will likely shoot the top top of his storied collection, and IMO, is the only way he can truly enjoy the watch and never look back.
I am first, pledging $100 to the cause.
Nicolas - I know you will not like this, you will try not to accept it. You can kick my ass next time we are together if it makes you feel better. For now, sit back, and find a place with the watch for 6K. This task should not take too long to complete.

Nicolas’ detail and well written reports had influenced my collection a big time. Almost anything I search regarding on JLC, his posts inevitably pop up. I always wanted to thank him for sharing his knowledge and moderating the forum for so long. I sincerely hope he will accept the offer from us and put the sad story of the stolen air king and previous stolen watches behind him.

Sorry to be practical about this but…
We need to establish a register of stolen watches. It’s not the total solution but it would help.
I'm going to relax my rule "don't be friends with a Frenchman who takes pictures of a pig's foot over a rooftop"
