I have wanted to own a watch made by this company ever since I first met the owner several years ago. Peter Speake-Marin comes across as just your normal average guy, but with an inner passion that has driven him to become the huge success he is now.
I have always loved the classic style of the Piccadilly, the case is classic as is the crown, the white enamel dial(yep, mine is enamel) is just beautiful with roman numerals. the blued steel hands add the icing on the cake. what you see is a swiss watch which screams 'English heritage' at you.
the movement is a very heavily modified ETA 2924, a workhorse that Peter values highly. the rotor that looks like a topping off tool is a lovely addition and is now the brands motif.
my watch dates from 2008 and is number 17. this I believe is one of the first 46 made, all with enamel dials. this run of watches are over engineered and finished to a very high level that some would say is higher than the later more mass produced models. I've not seen a more modern one so I cant comment.
anyway, its now in my collection and is a keeper.
here's a few quick pics taken with my LX3

I know I've been away for a long time, but I've been waiting for something special to come along and this is the first of a few.

I found this on purists collectors market so it shows that it is a useful source of watches. from a member and ex PSM dealer, now a watch journalist.

Thank you Richard and i agree with you totally. i could have purchased a serpent date for less but i find the dial too busy. the Piccadilly is an icon and will be a classic forever in my view.

thamks you Darren. he was making 38 and 42mm pieces. mine is 42mm. 38 mm doesnt suit the lugs in my opinion amd is a bit small. theres one at 38mm for sale in UK on purists but i think he will have trouble selling unless a lady buys it.

i might let you handle it if you are good Bim :)
you'll need to wear special gloves though. hehe

thank you Mark,
it would appear it was made around the same time that i first met Peter and still looks like new(unlike Peter and i).
very proud to own it indeed.
