Greetings to all!

I was both flattered and delighted to receive a very cordial message from Mr. Dufour.  He told me that my watch is both ready and "iike new," which is great to hear!

He was also kind enough to include a couple of photos, which (in cropped form) appear below:

His message was that he wanted to help me through my waiting for Basel World, when the watch will be delivered! 

What this taught me about Mr. Dufour:

1. He's a darned good photographer -- these photos are as good as most that I've seen online

2. He's a good guy (but I knew that)

3. He has a good sense of what we enthusiasts go through while awaiting a special piece like this one!

One step closer -- and unlike my "empty box" series, this set of photos actually includes the watch!

It's also great to see while the waiting time to get one made by Mr Dufour might be an unbearable few years, to service an existing piece is MUCH MUCH faster!! Well done Mr Dufour!

Thanks, Sidney -- I was also quite pleased to see how quickly the service took place.  I suppose that for a watch in excellent condition, the work to clean, oil, and re-assemble is not that involved -- but I also know that there is a lot of work for 2 people to do in that workshop to finish the current orders for new watches, so I am very grateful for the rapid turnaround on the service.

when it comes to own a watch from Mr. Dufour, is that you share your first hand experience with me/us. Have been with you when you saw your watch at SIHH and now you keep us updated.
Second best is more than I ever expected and I would like to thank you for that. Most of the "heavy" collectors don´t share with us or only on very rare occasions.

All your three points are correct, but the last one makes THE big difference for me. We are all here, because we are addicted to something that nobody needs and on top we spend lots of our own money for this.
Are we stupid? Do we have all the money in the world? ...? No, no ...! We are just in LOVE (sometimes, often ...) and passionated people in general Even better when some people in the "watch industry" understand that. Kudos to Mr. Dufour!

I can understand why the wait is killing you

..and I do have a few other pieces to console me in the meantime.  Great of Mr. Dufour to send those photos!

When you get it, please photograph it on your wrist plus on some more of your rugs. 

I don't have a huge rug collection, but will definitely work a few more into my shots!

Gary that is really one fine watch and the pictures are indeed very good.

The look is really growing on me -- if you had asked me originally, I might have said that I preferred the RG/guilloche combination, but the classic appearance of the lacquer dial and the clean look of the white metal case are more and more striking as I see more of them, and I think this combo will stand the test of time very well!

what a beautiful piece. A proud father could not photograph his daugther better - and it appears you are quite the approved-of son in law!

If you look at photos of PD while he is presenting his watches, he very often is gazing with affection at the watch itself.  His passion comes through in the work, and even in his photos!

You are so lucky - that is one of the most gorgeous watches I've ever seen!!  

I do realize how truly fortunate I am -- and really pleased to be able to share some of the excitement with you and my other friends here at the PuristS.
