Atelier Kai probably has the craziest leathers available, including both glossy and matte sparkle alligator. I did a more "subdued" matte sparkle for my Bradley Taylor, and it looks freaking awesome. The boxy padding isn't so thick that it ruins the flexibility of the strap, and Kai did purple stitching to match the hands plus blue to match the dial on the back of the strap. His workmanship is excellent and I will be ordering again. Very, very happy. The only downside is the long wait, but he is up front about it and he delivered exactly the month he told me it would arrive. His communication is prompt too. Highly recommend him, I think he's now my favorite strap maker I have tried.

The watch movement is wonderfully finished as I know you know. It's quite a feast for the eyes.

guilloche dial, inward angles and a strap which looks to fit perfectly.

The wait is definitely long but to his credit, he was dead accurate.

I went to his house to select the leather for a couple of straps several years ago.

The dial colour is one of the nicest blues I have seen and the texture of it really makes it look even more interesting. You can't beat a good custom made strap but a 5 month wait and 20% import cost would put me off buying from him. But I do appreciate having custom made straps as it really makes the watch fit so much better I am currently awaiting a strap for my Breguet where I have customised the length and thickness to take into account for a deployant and it will take 3 weeks which I can just about live with.
