One of not many?

Acquired at auction earlier this year, white gold, 1121 movement, linen dial and a hand-beaten case from 1972.  It has its proper case and movement all checked with VC - but the case shape number stamped inside is for a different tonneau (2020Q).  I'm wondering if I've got a one-off bespoke piece, the VC boutique thought it might be the case.  I haven't splashed out on getting the full certification, only the cheaper extract from the archives. I might treat myself to that when it goes in for a service.  I was curious if anyone has seen one like this.

Wow, that's a pretty unusual one! Bravo!

Your continuing research will be enjoyable and the outcome interesting. At the moment, the case work, especially to the lugs, may look 'after market', but time will tell.
