So they came in 40mm? Website models indicate a 42mm size. But at 40, and with all those features you mentioned, it would be interesting simply because it would be a UN x WPS piece. Midnight blue enamel dial could also be an option but would not mind black. Very interesting 
No, 44 mm case! Some models are 42 mm, but not this precise one. Midnight blue also came to my mind!

As much as I like them torpilleur project idea I wonder indeed if this would be more special as a “purist” timepiece…love it! It is also a less common UN reference which I like

With a black enamel dial I would also rather see the hands in silver or white (for better legibility).
And ,why not, the power reserve indicator hand in ...red !

is not a Make it or Break it point (?) for me
