Ships, Vessels, Seas, Ocean... The Universe of Ulysse Nardin.

Here is a superb official photo of the HMS Caesar:

Which leads us to another speciality of the brand: Enamel cloisonné dials.

Just gorgeous;

Enjoy.

Nicolas

For once, I agree, on the croc strap, even if I am not a big fan, but here it works. [nt]

What a beautiful watch that is Nicolas. That dial is superb.

I wonder how the designers decide on using a particular ship or image. Perhaps a private commission?
Just for interest, here is a plaque in memory of HMS Caesar’s captain killed at the battle of Algeciras. I like the old-fashioned language.

Regards Kev.

Great! Thanks for posting that, my dear friend; [nt]

Donze Cadrans SA (now owned by Ulysse Nardin) at their best. Indeed, better than some work by 'The Big Three'. [nt]

It’s a beauty.

We tend to forget this branch of UN’s output. They’ve made many gorgeous cloisonné dials. And their striking watches are also just amazing.

Yes, that's why I posted it. Among others which are worth being mentioned and discussed. [nt]

It is something I have in my mind. At least a nice watch with an enamel dial. I really miss something like that in my collection. [nt]

Hi Nicolas, these UN enamel pieces are so well made !

Donze Cadrans has excellent enamelers.

IMO The ones who made the Zheng He and the one below are able to produce waves that are more realistic.
