Ulysse Nardin Marine Torpilleur Military " Semper Fortis " Steel Case, 2019.

While we are discovering the 2019 editions of the Marine Torpilleur, I have to say that, to date, my favorite remains the one unveiled last year, the " Semper Fortis ".

For me, it is THE one which represents the Ulysse Nardin Universe better.

All the codes are here, the timeless dial, the classic power reserve, thee superb shaped blue hands... And for the modernity, the in house Cal 118 using silicon technology which is an UN speciality fo some years now, with a good power reserve of 60 hours.

The two drawback...

1/ The water resistance. For such a watch, I cannot understand it is only 50 meters water resistant. 100 meters would have been much better. I checked, it has a screw in crown. So 50 meters is a mystery for me.

2/ The fact that it is a limited edition for the US market... 173 pieces. I would have liked to see this beautiful specimen unlimited....

Best,

Nicolas

I didn't know this one.

It's a cool watch, but as you say, the 50 meter water resistance is a head scratcher.  I also wish these Torpilleur models were smaller diameter than 44mm.

Thanks for the post Nicolas.

Well, in this configuration, I am less disturbed by the size... A Marine Chronometer can be a big watch. It is not a stupid idea. [nt]

I thought about adding this one.

I can wear the 44 OK, but it is big with this case style as M4 points out.  I patiently await an offering with arabic numerals on this type of watch.

But I still prefer the 2017 1846 version.   It did have a date, but was in a smaller case and had an enamel dial.

Yes to arabic numerals! [nt]
