Roger Dubuis

Being my first post I thought I should share a couple of pics.  Yesterday I picked up a Sympathie Sport that was traded back in to the original AD it was purchased from.  I have my sights set on picking up an Easy Diver chronograph with the champagne dial and manual wind movement, but this will hold me over until I can make that happen.  I really like the design of the dial and Roman numerals.  My favorite aspect of this watch is the in-house RD14.  It's beautifully finished and it's great to have something in my winder without an ETA stamp.

Delicate yet sporty. Very appealing.

It's always nice to see a delicate swan neck regulator on a robust and sporty watch!  

Question for those that are familiar with the older RD line-up.  Which watch do you think will hold up better over time in regards to aesthetics?  This Sympathie model or an Easy Diver of around the same time period?  I'm considering picking up a Diver, but only with the champagne dial.  The contrast of the dial along with the blued hands looks fantastic.  If I go that route I'm also debating whether or not I should opt for the manual wind chrono.  The legendary Lemania base movement used in the chrono is beautiful, but having an in-house movement in the non chrono version appeals to me also.

as the movement - like you said - is legendary, regardless whether in-house or not. I consider it a must-have for all chronograph lovers.

that the lemania based chronograph is very desirable, I personally think this classic movement is better suited for the more traditionalist sympathie case as opposed to the easy diver case.   Even better if you can find one w/ sympathie shaped crystal. 

of picking the Sympathie Sport.   It's a very rare breed and they were only produced for a short period of time before the line fully transitioned to the Excalibur line.    I love mine...

I have a question for you.  My case shows a seam around it almost entirely.  Is it visible on your case as well?

Do you know when they stopped making this watch. Saw a new one for sale recently, but must be several years old? Thank you for your advise.

Looks great on your wrist. Thanks for sharing the pictures! How does it feel compared to other watches?

Surprisingly it feels quite nice.  My wrists aren't the smallest so it doesn't feel too large at all.  Having said that, I generally wear my watches a bit looser than what most other people do.  For a 43mm it does look large in comparison to others.

Do you know how old the watch is? I saw a new one for sale, but makes me wonder. Im looking to pick up my first RD, love the brand. it is spectacular - congratulations.

And it is fantastic. It's new, although manufactured several years ago. Can you say what you paid? I just don't know how to determine what a limited piece like this should cost. Thanks- appreciate it.
