Not Easy Diver ;)

Hey Doctor,

That be the Excalibur, not the Easy Diver.  Great shot none the less.

Correct on the first count . . .

. . . but with a little further research, I believe the model is designated "Chronexcel".  My photo was taken in Boston three years ago, and several better images were taken by Aaron that evening, which I hope he'll share with us soon.  Unfortunately, I'm away from home for a few days, and unable to post them at this time.

Thanks,

Art

Your wish is my command...

though I'll not brag about the quality, here are 2 pics of that Chronoexcel:, first a closeup of the dial

(ignore the blue circles, I was trying out a ring-light that didn't work very well

Is the same as the Excalibur?

What's Mr. Kern wearing?

What watch is Mr. Kern wearing in the photo?  I don't believe its an RD.  Anyone?

Looks like The Monégasque Chronograph: the trump card

 By: Bill : October 21st, 2011-16:05

Here is a closeup and the exact watch.

The chronograph version of La Monégasque, the trump card of the new collection, captivates with its refined design as much as by its fascinating mechanism. Its satin sunburst dial includes the two timer sub-dials, the 45-minute counter at 3 o'clock and the small seconds at 9 o'clock, echoing the style  and  charm  of  the  chronographs  of  grand tradition. Its elegantly sculpted case in pink gold or steel is enhanced with a decorative bezel in black  PVD  titanium.  Water-resistant  to 5  bars(50 metres),within its 44 millimetre-diameter case-houses a new column-wheel chronograph movement designed, developed and produced by the ROGER DUBUIS Manufacture. This mechanical chronograph movement with automatic winding by micro-rotor, the calibre RD680, represents the new generation of ROGER DUBUIS mechanical movements, combining aesthetic qualities with performance and exploiting the   most   advanced  production   technologies. The  RD680  chronograph  calibre  comprises 261components and has a power reserve of 52 hours and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour (4 Hz). Like all ROGER DUBUIS movements, it is stamped with the prestigious Geneva Seal. The Monégasque Chronograph is available on a hand-sewn black alligator strap with pin buckle in pink gold or folding buckle in steel.

Thanks Bill

Having been a guest at the manufacture on a trip in 2009, I can only say that the addition of an RD Forum on ThePurists is a great enhancement both for ThePurists as the world's premier watch forum and for RD as one of the leading brands in the world of horology.

Thanks for the welcome message and ...

... congratulations to Alec. Roger Dubuis has come so far in a relatively short time and I marveled at the manufacturing and the range of movements available. And there have always been pieces across the brand that attracted me - just as there have been watches I would never wear! But that's the mark of a good manufacture, a range of watches to appeal to different tastes and situations. I look forward to learning much more about RD.

Congratulations to all.

Andrew
