Why is it hard to find a well preserved, in original condition, highly desirable, rare vintage watch?

Sure. But a rare watch, is still a rare watch. And even with a good seller, mistakes are made.
Yes, true, but with some serious homework, it is not too tough to fall on a good one.
BigFatPauli, it is not such a big thing - all information available about this watch - there are much more vintage watches, that are more difficult to buy
google for example "100 percent passion zenith cairelli" and you find all information - than there are furthermore 2 different dust covers
and 2 different engravings on the movement for the "DP" what is important to know - than you can start your hunt
any vintage watch to buy needs needs research and a lot of work

Of course there are harder watches, with more specificity. I never said this was the HARDEST watch to find.
But it's not the easiest, by any stretch, either. Even armed with all the knowledge in the world, to actually FIND the right example for me, tends to very difficult and a case of luck. I'm glad you seem to have easy access to vintage watches in such condition. I, like most, do not have such a connection.
i never had easy (!) acces with vintage watches and don't wrote ore explaned this! - every vintage watch was hard research and work for me, as i wrote
intersting to observe the market situation: many years continuous development, than steep climb by pushing, than falling down to reality or less - regards Stephan
