The " 2 Cents " series of shots: My Patek 5070G.
One of the toughest dial to take in picture. The depth of the dial, its color and finish are indeed very tough to render in picture.
At least, the picture is funny:

One of the truly great Pateks of the modern era.....but...
.....what i will say is that I think the dials on all of the 5070 series are quite special....very hard to capture and very alluring to own. I miss mine a great deal...not back until August.

I must have taken about 200 photos trying to get a good shot of the 5070 dial.
Despite the smudge at 4pm, this is probably my best rendering.
You have my sympathy...its a near-impossible task
But in many ways, this is the enigmatic aspect of the watch that adds so much to its appeal.

It i hard to take in picture because of its dial. The finish is very subtle, quite refined.

One of the 5070 pictures I saved from this forum (sorry I forget the member who took it). Very nicely captured the beauty of this wonderful piece.
About catching the dial...
... the quality of light makes it all. Always looks nice in natural light, whether its a white clouded sky or a blue sunny one
Personally, I find that a cloudy sky is better for this dial ( G and P ).
The mild light gives it a less harsh, more elegant look.
