so mates, I decided to empty my wallet again....going in for a 5056P......thank you thank you in advance

Here is the little problem or rather a query to the owners and admirers.....I am looking at this movement 315/199 rite but I notice two things very odd...

1) The wheel(gear) - highlighted red - right next to the rotor center, is not finished (pointed out in red circle), though everything else seems to be in line as far as finish is concerned....do your models have the same texture/finish on the wheel. I looked up 5036 movements n they all had a gold/bronze color highly polished wheel.

2) The screw/bolt highlighted is way off center....I looked up a lot of 315 movements and didn't see this anomaly.....


what do you guys think of these aberrations or any other peculiarities, is it the watch or is it with me


 I wud entertain all replies, opinions..

My 5056P has the same on both counts and my local Patek service centre has also serviced it before so nothing to be concerned.

This is a great pickup and I still like this watch a lot.  When it comes to Annual Calendars, I think Patek sets the standard.

where do you find the case# , since the 5056P doesnt come with a solid case-back, at least I never saw one being offered.

Whilst I have the 324 movement is looks very similar.

 

The 'unfinished' wheel on that rocks back and forth with the movement of the rotor actually has a very fine sort of perlage finishing and is silver in colouor.  I expect yours has the same finish.

The sliding bolt you referred to is actually a clutch which I beleive controls the hand winding vs automatic.  If you give the rotor a few anti-clockwise rotations you'll see the clutch disc move towards the middle.  Then  hand wind it and it will move back to the side.

I have seen lot of references here with 3-D layout of the movements......I am trying to find more info on this specific movement. If anyone has info on this plz share.

any idea where to find the case no since it doesnt have the solid case-back...
