I received my PP magazine today.
Will look forward to reading it.
The seal has no logic, as everyone has already stated. They have their name on the dial, buckle, movement, case, its all over the place. That is their seal of quality.
In the long run, this move will hurt them as quality could fall and still the seal would be in place. If other brands are smart, they will use it against them in advertising. Now Patek is stuck as they can't go back. Having an outside stamp of quality is just good marketing period. Rolex doesn't need that COSC certificate, but they are smart to keep up with it. It's just something we have all grown to trust over the years and it shows they are willing to be inspected by a third party.
It's all about marketing and having your own seal is just not good marketing in my mind.
... I wonder if anyone have seen a Grand Seiko recently ?? Talk about a watch with NO seal .... its quality is just as fine as A.Lange, Patek or VC. Delivering high quality movements, great finishings, and a much lower price tag. Seal, what seal ??
