Patek Philippe

Hi all:

Being an newbie, could you guys offer me your thoughts on the 5056P compared to other PP annual calendars (both discontinued and still in production).  Your advice is most appreciated.  Thanks.

5146G or 5135G or P

The main reason being, that I am not a fan of Roman Numerals on the dial.

I selected this watch because it was 1. platinum with the signature diamond 2. the gray face with the red dots in the power dial 3. very subtle 4. and a useful and affordable complication. I also have a small wrist, so it was more suitable than the 51xx series of annual calendars. In fact it was my first Patek, and since then I have acquired 4 more. I enjoy the watch because of its weight, feel and the fact that it is very subtle (almost dull) which makes it a very personal choice as opposed to my 5712 1A which make more of a public statement. I love the watch and the only other annual calendar I would consider trading it for would be the 5146P.

Here's mine for reference.  I still think she is a beauty and I find it niceer than the 5146 which I was also considering.  I also personally prefer the power reserve indicator on the 5056P better thante 5146 but to each his own.

Get the one which appeals to you most but for Annual Calenders, I don;t think any Patek model will do you wrong.

I love the applied Roman's, the grey dial and the heft of the Platinum case. The moonphase has a subtle beauty that you can't really understand until you see it in person.



I also have a 5146G and I love it just as much as the 5056P




Both beautiful watches and I like them equally.

If I could change one thing, I would like for the 5056P to be 38-40mm in diameter.



I'm also fond of the 5146P but i'm happy with what I have.

 

I love the 5056P, 'cos it's the 1st annuar calender produced by Patek, unique in platinum leather strap only, low profile appearance & fairly reasonably priced.
