Million dollar dial:The unique 5196 quartet

The OAK collection features 3 and opens at the Design Museum in London on the 19th May

The unique collection features a yellow gold and rose gold based on the original 570 pieces

I also now found the elusive 5196p with blue dial (credit Robb Report)

The final is my friend salmon dial
The Salmon dial incidentally is the only one with Breguet hands
A unique quartet of 5196, possibly the most beautiful modern time only Patek, as if the regular 5196 range and especially the platinum were not beautiful enough

Old and new together

Vintage inspired

The unique 5196p salmon

The black Breguet numerals and salmon also inspired by a vintage 96

The “regular “ 5196p isn’t exactly undesirable!!!

Wow! Thanks for the information and photos for these

amazing pieces !

They look so delicious !

My favourite is the blue dial.  So lovely !

The Blue and the Salmon are superb, but once again, I don't understand how they are wroth some hundreds thousand of dollars more than the regular 5196P. I must be stupid, silly, or probably overwhelmed...

Why is a Paul Newman JPS worth so much more?

Or a green5711?
Its rarity desirability and the fact that its a goal
I see many watches that have values in the millions
👍🏻 If I had the wealth, I would get one if these

It's simply the market... but I'm sure we agree this is *by far* not the most egregiously priced Patek of the last 6 months! ;-))

You're not stupid, or silly. I have the same thought.

You are a Vampire though.

Sublime...

I was reading about the OAK Collection. The 'unique' or 'one of a kind' collecting philosophy of Mr Getreide is quite remarkable and fortunately done at the right period of time. Unfortunately I think brands are now less inclined to make unique/one of a kind pieces now that popularity is sky high so I doubt this collecting philosophy can get replicated again!

One of the best-looking Pateks ever...

...but I'm just not a fan of the movement...

From a technical point of view, it’s one of the greatest work horse movement ever made

Probably...

...but Patek kept putting it in large cases and even rectangular cases...kind of bothered me.

I like the 5196P - it is a beautiful reference, but...

Is anyone else bothered by the placement of the sub-seconds?  That is something I have never been able to get over.  I find the placement here to be so much more convincing:

Some of the most beautiful pieces had the same configuration from the past,, personally like many, its never been an issue

I think it's the result of having a too small movement in a too large case...

The salmon dial with the Breguet hands. Yes please!

Sounds like a Promising OAK One of A Kind Exhibition!

Thanks for sharing this Imran -- indeed a remarkable collection, which almost as impressive, even made it extensively into the mainstream media in recent months! It's a special opportunity for collectors to even view these pieces! ;-)

In any colored dial, this is a stunning reference! I would be happy with any of these colors :-)))
