IWC has a good point too. I forgot that many watch stores are authorized dealers for many different brands. Maybe all the salesman should be given one watch from each brand they sell. Then change the watch depending on which brand the customer is buying.😂
Indeed, I guess the safest/most tasteful thing would be to sell a watch while wearing one which is perceived by the client as lower level (either in terms of brand or even model)...
I frankly couldn't care less for myself, but I can *very* easily imagine that some customers on a 62-year Nautilus wait list, who have to settle on a Calatrava, might not be so pleased to see the random salesguy wear a SS Nautilus...;-)) Actually, the Rolex in the above picture looks like a SS sports model, so while our Patek 5212A customer won't be bothered in the least, some Rolex, two-tone client who comes next to the shop might take it differently...who knows ;-)
I guess this is simply an instance of the usual, unwritten "rule" in place at many jobs (fortunately not mine!), where you have to be mindful of what you wear (or drive) not to rub people the wrong way...

I totally agree. My comments were partly “tongue and cheek” I honestly do not care what my salesperson wears on his/her wrist. What I care about is the level of service and attention to detail and being treated kindly.

Of course, I also see these things (like most others) in a totally relaxed way, also because the salesguy could have meant no harm...But you noted an interesting situation, perhaps with more implications than he himself might think ;-)
Glad the weather is getting better while the restrictions are loosening up significantly in the US...Great weather on its way also here in Italy, though officially there are still some serious restriction, including a 10pm curfew...Tomorrow and Wednesday my first brief trips outside of Genova, hoping to enjoy!

I believe it's gonna be a strap monster.
You can pair it with almost any color: blue, grey, olive green, light moss green, tan, taupe, brown and many more 
I personally think smooth calf & nubuck will do best as the dial is kinda busy.
Experimenting is one of the most fun part IMO
